Makeup, Muses & NOTD

I am looking for a substitute to wearing foundation. I've heard some good things about tinted moisturizers.
What do you all think is a good substitute for foundation that will provide light, full coverage and an even skin tone like a foundation?

Traveling in Stila

Stila brings you the Travel Girl Palettes. This cosmetics palette launches 5 different makeup looks until December, all inspired by fashionistas like yourself.
The first one is the Road to Radiance Across the USA, which includes 4 eye shadows featuring shades of Alloy called City Chick and shades of Shimmery Champagne titled Snow Bunny. It also has a convertible color in Hibiscus.

The best part: you can get this wonderfully compact makeup palette for only $10 at Stila!

If you remember, last week I told you I was using the L'Oreal Lash Boosting Serum for longer, thicker lashes. I used to have pretty much non-existent lashes, so anything helps. Do you think it was worth the buy? What do you think of my new lashes?
(so sorry if the photos aren't the best)

Before using the serum--no mascara
After 4 weeksBeforeAfter--with mascara
Screening Your Beauty

Another product I think you lovely muses will find interesting is the Uber-Dry Sunscreen SPF 30 by Peter Thomas Roth. This is a perfect product for summer and its lightweight application keeps your skin dry and full of protection.
It's shine-free and oil-free with Vitamins A, C, and E, and as a bonus it comes with a 5-star rating. Find this sunscreen at Sephora for $26 and have fun soaking up the sun!
NOTD: Reckless

My mother in law bought me this when she went to Curacao a few weeks ago. It's supposed to be a silver color indoors and a slightly darker peach-like pink (called "Reckless") when sunlight hits it. But I don't think the effect was truly shown on camera. C'est la vie.

  1. Tinted Moisturizes are the best. I use Mark. Get a Tint, not only does it provide great coverage it also has SPF 15 which is also great for protection in the summer. I really think you should invest in a tinted moisturizer for summer.

*Quick tip: Apply another facial moisturizer before the TM so that it will glide on your face smoothly.

That Lash boosting serum was a great buy! Your lashes look noticeably longer and thicker.

That sunscreen seems like its good stuff, I'll have to check that out.

    Love the nail color!

  6. I had a great deal of success from a YSL tinted moisturizer when I was younger. They even had one that would start out as a liquid and dry as a powder that worked pretty nicely, but I eventually started to get a reaction to it.
I should check out that nail polish!

  7. I love tinted moisturizers for summer :) I use Benefit You Rebel, it has SPF 15, but it kind of adds a shine to my already oily skin, so I don't think it's the best option for oily... oh well!
I can see a huge difference in your lashes! Too bad L'oreal tests on animals, otherwise I would buy it for myself.

  16. I wish there was a before lash stuff side view for a good comparison, but I think they look fuller :)

I've never had good luck finding a foundation that matches my skin tone, much less one that isn't even foundation! Let me know if you find a tinted moisturizer with good color matching.

    Rock that polish!♥

  18. I say, make the switch to tinted moisturizers!! That is all I have ever or will ever use. I have also switched all of my bath and body products to organic over the past few years and have noticed a HUGE difference in my skin. It's like it can BREATHE again, lol.

Email me if you would like me to send you some links and recommendations :)

    Have a great weekend, doll!!
