What I'm Loving in May

This really should be titled 'What I Was Loving in May' since the month is just about over, but I like consistency. As usual, check below the image to see why these are the things I'm loving this month!| All the great new jewelry arrivals on Layered Muse ~ the colors are perfect for spring/summer and the prices are even better. Lookbook: Dots and Stripes

Happy Memorial Day! I hope you stateside Muses had a fab weekend and are still enjoying it with today's holiday. I spent my weekend scarfing down delicious bread pudding French toast from Naglee Park Garage then working it off with a hike at Tilden in Berkeley.

Today I'm dressed in boutique clothing. The top is from Winter Lennon and it's the coolest. You have to check out their totally wearable collection for more cute pieces like this one. And the bottom is another item I came away with from FashionElles. Don't you just love the design and fit?  | Annabell top c/o Winter Lennon | Sugarlips pants c/o FashionElles | Charlotte Russe twisted floral wedges | Fab.com I Am The Force sunglasses | Because I'm a nerd and I know it. And yes, I am your father. If you like what you see, check out more from Winter Lennon and use code SHOP30 for 30% off.

By the way, I have a great giveaway coming up on the Muse really soon, but first I'm heading to Dublin, Ireland with the hubs. I've never been so I'm quite excited, except for the fact that it appears to be 60 degrees over there--not looking forward to that.

Caseapp Review: My Phone Is Pretty & Smart

In the world of smartphones, I'm an android baby. After I moved on from the era of the flip phone in high school, I upgraded to my first android phone by Google. And ever since, I've been Team Android.

Recently, my birthday present to myself was the Samsung Galaxy S3 (and now, of course, I want the S4). I really do love everything about it. The only thing it was missing (not counting the S4 upgrades) was a great case.

And I've been really into personalizing and customizing lately, so I was over the moon when Caseapp gave me the opportunity to create my own case for my GS3. All I had to do was select my phone model and then upload  an image file and add text.Instead of using clip art, I chose to use an image from my blog since I wanted the phone case to represent the Muse. The website easily lets you upload any image from your computer and helps with sizing. What I loved most about the process was the ability to preview the case before purchasing. The Oh to Be a Muse Case

Caseapp has a lot of cool cases and skins to choose from for iPhone 4/4s, iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy and more. Use code OHTOBEAMUSE for a 15% discount until June 1. These are some of my favorites on the site:What do you think of these cases? Do you have a cool case for your smartphone?

~ This post was brought to you by The Muse and Caseapp. I was sent this case for free, but all opinions are my own. ~

Lookbook: Crochet in May

A couple weekends ago some friends and I did a limo wine tour in Sonoma. Follow me on Instagram to see photos of what I wore. It was a ton of fun, and we really enjoyed both Cline and Jacuzzi wineries.

Wine is delicious, but I just want everyone to know that being able to hold your liquor is a good thing. There is nothing cute about throwing up, going on a crazy rant or making a fool of yourself because you had one too many glasses of white wine. But it is funny to watch. That is all. I'm sorry to bombard you guys with this photo-heavy lookbook post, but I liked so many of the photos in this shoot that I just had to share.

This is what I was initially wearing for the FashionElles event last week before I changed into something from the store. But I still had to share this outfit post because I think everything came together so well.| Forever 21 crocheted a-line dress | Glint and Gleam 2-in-1 knuckle ring c/o ShopLately | Jeffrey Campbell solitaire heels | Glint and Gleam ammo glam bracelet c/o ShopLately | H&M baroque blazer (one of my faves as I've worn it on here a million times) |What do you think of this look?

Inspiring Style: My Favorite Bloggers with Natural Hair

I totally love natural hair. It's the best thing since sliced bread. And I get a lot of my natural hair inspiration from bloggers, in particular. This is a list of a few of my favorite bloggers who rock their natural hair like no one else! Nikki Mae from Natural Chica is probably one of the most famous natural hair bloggers, and you can follow her hair transition from her TWA to her lavish locks on both her blog and her YouTube page. She really got me into doing my own transition.

Serena from The Serena Saga has the type of hair that always looks in place even though she always wears it big. It's definitely her best accessory. Amber is one of my favorites in general. Her naturally curly locks are just icing on the cake because I would read her blog Amber's Mouthwash with or without the curls.

Chioma is such a treat. My favorite thing about her hair on Chioma's Evolution of Style is how it's accented with brown tips. I'll definitely have to try that some day. I read Krystal's blog The Feisty House all the time, and I love going there for her hairstyles and her outfits. Her hair journey inspires mine.

Cynthia is one of the bloggers on this list that has been featured on the Muse before and for good reason. Simply Cyn is always a great source for different hairstyles and beautiful photography.Akila from On a Cruz is one of the newer blogs that I've started following, and I'm very happy to have found her site. She keeps it simple and cool and her hair highlights that about her.

Last, but certainly not least, is Folake from Style Pantry. I've never seen an outfit that didn't look good on her, and her beautiful curly and wavy tresses are always on point.

And head on over to the All Women Stalk Facebook page for a $25 Layered Muse Giveaway!

BloggerBelle with FashionElles Boutique

On Saturday I attended the BloggerBelle event at FashionElles in San Francisco. FashionElles is a woman's contemporary apparel store, carrying edgy to chic clothes from local designers and designers from L.A., NYC, and even internationally.

It was such a fun event because I got to meet some wonderful fashion bloggers and new friends. A big thanks to Thy for hosting this event and providing all the lovely clothing, snacks and bubbly. | Bethann of BethAnimalPrint | Lindsey of Complacency Kills | Me | Mallory & Whitney of ReadyTwoWear | Sasha of Style Worm | Caity of Moi Contra La Vie | Thy Lam from FashionElles |

Take a look at some of the beautiful clothing at the store. Seriously, if you're in the Bay Area, you need to check out this Marina boutique. It is full of great pieces, and I'll be rocking some on the Muse soon. Find more photos of the event on the FashionElles Instagram page!

Lookbook: Styling & Print Mixing

Hope everyone had a beautiful weekend and happy Mother's Day! We'll be announcing the winners of the giveaway soon. This outfit isn't actually what I wore to the BloggerBelle event at FashionElles on Saturday. I was wearing something else entirely. But I was given the opportunity to pick out a look and this is what I came up with on the spot. Isn't it fab?And I was lucky enough to be wearing the perfect shoes too. I'll have to pat myself on the back for styling this so well in just a few minutes. Plus, it takes me out of my comfort zone because it's print mixing, which I haven't done a lot of on the Muse. But I totally love it. And others do too, apparently.

After the event I met up with some friends to eat French soul food (aka Cajun) and I was crossing the street and two cars honked. I was like, "these people have road rage." And then I looked at the guy in the car and he waves at me and blows a kiss. Weird and creepy, but at least I knew why he was honking.| Ark & Co. top c/o FashionElles | Glint & Gleam knuckle rings c/o ShopLately | Tyche shorts c/o FashionElles | Glint & Gleam ammo glam bracelet c/o ShopLately | Parisa G by Guess wedges |What do you think of this look?

Lookbook: Romp the Remix

I hope I haven't thrown off the universe by putting my lookbook post on a Wednesday. ;) Things got switched around on the blog, but all's good because we have a new outfit post and it features polka dots and outfit remixing.

This came about because I wanted to wear more printed shorts, but then realized that I didn't have any other printed shorts to wear. Until I remembered this pink patterned romper and had the idea to jazz it up with a nice top.Modcloth Through the Wire headband (similar) | Nastygal hit the spot blouse | Ross patterned romper | Forever 21 belt | Zara high heel sandal (similar) | Classic Winchester lady watch c/o Daniel Wellington | I think this is my first time outfit remixing on the blog...like, legit remixing. The romper was last seen in my Pretty in Pink post from April 2011, and the top is from my Layered Muse post from three months ago. Wore this for a nice little weekend lunch and ice cream. I ate horchata ice cream and it was quite delicious. You must try it if you're a fan of the drink.

What do you think of this look? Have you ever remixed a romper before?
