Inspiring Style: Get the Look ~ American Hustle

The movie American Hustle opened in December, and I reviewed it and just recently it won some Golden Globes as well. After watching it you'll know that how you look is a big part of the hustle. So here are a few ways you can get the 1970s glam style of both Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams. You can see that what these characters wear reflects their personalities in the film.

Jennifer Lawrence portrays Rosalyn Rosenfeld, the wife of Christian Bale's character and the mother of their child. She spruces up her suburban housewife staples with provocative ensembles that play up her emotional manipulation.

Want to look beautiful in (faux) fur? Get the Jennifer Lawrence look with this form-fitting coat from Oasap. The coat is what makes this 1970s style pop because of the big fur around the neckline that immediately screams glam. You can also try a smooth curl up-do or do what Jennifer did for the movie--wear a wig! Her hair was still brunette (as she was filming The Hunger Games) so she actually wore a blonde wig to pull off this look.
Be a stunning damsel in white like JLaw with these two options both from Michelle Jonas. You can go sexy and flirty with these keyhole dresses, whether you go with the high-low number or the floor length.

Amy Adams plays the role of Sydney Prosser--the right hand "man" to Christian Bale's hustle (or you can eve say that she's the #1 hustler in the whole film). Her sense of style is sophisticated and confident, like a small town girl who plays dress up with a Diane von Furstenberg look and a shabby British accent. But Amy is a wrap dress queen in this turquoise Issa silk jersey dress from The Outnet.
This covered in sequins dress easily transforms Amy into a 1970s disco-era beauty. The plunging neckline on this 247 Features dress allows you to mimic the look and stay on your hustle. This is the type of look that Amy uses to get the job done, which is a big theme of the film.

Even the men the movie are concerned with their overall appearance, from Christian Bale's intro scene of how to put together a combover, to Bradley Cooper's tiny curlers to create an at-home perm. Or even Jeremy Renner's "the bigger the hair, the closer to God" pompadour.

Disclosure: This post was sponsored by Sony through their partnership with POPSUGAR. While I was compensated to write a post about American Hustle, all opinions are my own."

Some quick trivia: Amy and Christian Bale were both in The Fighter and Jennifer and Bradley Cooper were both in Silver Linings Playbook. Have you seen American Hustle yet? Let me know your thoughts after watching the trailer. It's now playing everywhere so get showtimes and tickets!

  21. Love when movies have great wardrobes! I always feel like I pay more attention to the clothes, furniture and accessories rather than the storyline. Haven't seen American Hustle yet, but looks like a great one!
