Musing of a Muse - Part 3

Usually I'm pretty good about knowing what I want, but sometimes I wish I didn't have to make decisions. I mean, I'm very comfortable with being me. If I don't want to do something or don't want to go somewhere, I have no qualms letting you know that. I don't feel the need to be herded with the rest of the sheep. But there are times when I have to make serious decisions, and I just wish I could go to the future and see the outcome so I could hindsight 20/20 it and know I was making the right choice. Why can't life be that simple?

"You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe.
You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes."

I want to be shown the rabbit hole and see what type of adventure lies ahead. But what if, in fact, it is a misadventure that I don't want to be a part of? No one can know for sure, hence the beauty of the divide.

Thanks again for the votes for WWDMAGIC. Although I'm really happy that I was one of the lucky few to attend the event, I'm not a fan of popularity contests, which is what the second round of the competition was all about. Like I said, totally grateful that I was a part of such a wonderful opportunity, but I think I'm getting too old for moments where you win by fame instead of by acclaim. And this is for any type of blogger-related contest or life, in general.

With all the real crazy shit going on in Russia, Venezuela and that missing plane, I really don't have time for this so-called "news" that selfies are causing an increase in plastic surgery. First of all, there's not nearly enough evidence to support that. And secondly, don't say your selfie made you do it! Get some confidence or a better Instagram filter or just jump off the selfie bandwagon already.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

  1. I'm the same with knowing what I want & what I don't want & I will say so. I don't really worry about future stuff, I like to imagine what or how things will go, but I tend to just take every day as it comes. The times I have wondered about the future, things have not gone as well as I hoped for. So, I try not to worry or think on it now. And I agree with you about the selfie thing, knowing what happened to the plane is more important and blaming plastic surgery on a selfie is just ludicrous!! Have a great week doll xx

  2. Oh yeah, I can be quite resolute, but also wish that I could go into the future and make the right decision.
Oh my and I can't believe that selfies are being blamed/linked to plastic surgery. Sad, so sad...

  6. This is exactly the reason why I don't usually enter popularity contests! It's all the same in the end. Wow, did not hear about the ridiculous selfies thing... Good Lord!

  8. So true. Big things are happening around the world, while other people are more concerned about who to troll or other minor casualties.
Of course, we all need to live in the moment and appreciate the great things in our lives, whether they are small or not, but if only were more likely to help each other, this world would be much of a better place
Stay inspired and focused, Cheryl ♥

  9. I'm sorry I haven't been around much, trying to get back into it and build my personal blog.

I agree, I feel the same way about the whole "Let's ban the word Bossy" thing, is it really something that this world needs to worry about right now? If I'm a strong, confident woman, I don't care what you want to call me! Just don't call me late for dinner! HAHA!

Yes, demand respect, but don't let a silly word like Bossy get you down.

    Love this photo of you!!

  10. I'm tired of the popularity contest, too. I think it's time to forget about taking the perfect selfie and just enjoy living and the people around you.

  11. I agree on all fronts… life has so much more dimension that what we experienced in the halls of high school, it is time priorities did some maturing….

Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

  12. I understand what you mean Cheryl, these thoughts go through my head as well. Sometimes it seems we live in a very superficial world and with all the devastation that goes on its all very meaningless. Thanks for stopping by!

  13. This seems to be a theme among bloggers lately. I think we're all just getting so tired of the competition and of the "popularity contests" (good way to put it!)

    You're doing great, Cheryl!

  15. I admire your tenacity and that is why I enjoy following you. I feel very similar to you and while I understand that competition and popularity comes with the territory, I wish those who weren't out for that kind of gain were recognized as well. This isn't to say what others are doing are less worthy of recognition but, it is just refreshing to see otherwise. You have a wonderful soul and it's great to see!

  16. Selfies are causing more plastic surgery? Meh. People didn't see themselves in photos before?
