My Autumn Music Playlist

It's that time of year again. Tuesday, Sept. 23 is the Autumnal Equinox, aka the first day of fall. So let's start off the season with a fun fall music playlist that will get you ready for everything that autumn has to bring your way.

Meghan Trainor - All About That Bass
I added this to my workout back in August after the hubs got it stuck in his head and kept singing it around the house. I don't know if Meghan is going to be a one hit wonder like Carly Rae Jepsen, but this is a catchy tune for now.

The White Stripes - Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground
Why aren't The White Stripes still together? They made some great songs back in the day. And although this track is on the slow side, it's better than Wake Me Up When September Ends because that's just a dismal tune.

Janis Joplin - Maybe
Honestly, there are many songs by Janis that I would like to add to this autumn music playlist because you really can't go wrong with Ms. Joplin. But, I picked this one because it gets you right in the gut and seems like a warm song to go along with a warm fall coat.

Nico & Vinz - Am I Wrong
This is one of those songs that I would hear on the radio and like, but would never make an attempt to find out the name of the song or the name of the artist...until recently. I like how upbeat it is, and the Afrobeat influence makes you move.

Earth, Wind & Fire - September
I went to a wedding in Austin recently, and each table was assigned a song. My table happened to be this one, which was quite fitting for autumn. The band actually performed in the Bay Area a month ago but no one wanted to go. People just don't know good music anymore.

What is on your playlist this fall?

  4. The Counting Crows always come into heavier rotation for me when the weather starts to turn chillier.

  5. Love Janis Joplin and Earth, Wind & Fire! I'm listening to my older albums lately; Metallica, Coolio, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and my kids have me listening to Lady Gaga. I know, random.
