Review: Luminess Air Airbrush Kit

Let's talk airbrush makeup. As I've said numerous times on the Muse, I'm not a beauty blogger. I obviously wear makeup, but I'm no whiz when it comes to painting my face. I just do what works for me. So it definitely was exciting to review the Luminess Air airbrush makeup system as I've always heard how fun and easy airbrush makeup can be.
So airbrush makeup is sprayed onto your face in a gentle mist. You can get a light coverage with one application or a fuller coverage with three applications (just wait about five seconds between applications). All you do is shake the bottle beforehand, then add a few drops of the foundation into the color cup. When you press the on/off button, air will go through the stylus pen, but nothing else. The foundation doesn't go through until you move the trigger on the stylus. That's when the air mixes with the foundation drops in the color cup.

The trick is to constantly move your hand in a circular motion about six inches away from your face. You can start with your cheeks, then do your chin, your forehead, and finally end with your t-zone.

My Luminess Air airbrush system included the ultra foundation, which provides a balance between a dewy and matte finish. The makeup itself is oil-free, mineral based and hypoallergenic. The benefit of airbrushing also minimizes wrinkles and can last up to 10 hours on all skin types. My biggest issue right now is uneven skin tone, and airbrush makeup is very good for making everything come together.
My system included two warm shade foundations, a blush, a skin brightening glow and a moisturizing primer. But Luminess Air also sells bronzers, lip glosses, complete eye collections and more.

Being a first-time airbrush user, it was pretty easy to utilize this system. Also, I found that the warm foundations really matched my skin tone. My only qualm was that I felt like if I pressed too lightly, nothing was coming out -- and if I pressed too hard, then too much was coming out. But you can easily get a handle on this by watching the video tutorial that comes with each system. So muses, would you airbrush?
