What I Loved: April 2017

In this month's edition of What I'm Loving (or what I loved), I'm sharing some confessions -- maybe even some that you can relate to as well. Check out the post below and let me know what you loved this April!
I can't open up Instagram and not see someone sporting a cage bag these days, specifically, the Cult Gaia ark bag. Most girls have this bag in the bamboo wood tone, but most of those are sold out at this point. But they also come in green and other colors and in various sizes. I wanted to get this bag a couple months ago but kept waiting and waiting. And now to my confession: I think the bag has become too trendy for me to buy it now. Am I right? Or am I right?

I was never a big fan of tacos. If I went to a Mexican restaurant I would order a quesadilla or flautas. I just didn't care for tacos -- soft or hard shell...until recently. I went to a place that didn't have a lot of options, and I wanted to get something protein heavy so I got carnitas tacos. I've never looked back. And here's my other confession: I seriously crave tacos now and could eat two a day, every other day (not sure how some people eat any more than two in one sitting). The coolest thing is that they can be made quickly, but they're much healthier than fast food, yet just as inexpensive.

I will always have a soft spot for eye serums, so I was so happy to get the Simply Eye Serum from Healing Natural Oils to try out this month. I also opted for their Simply Hand Oil because even though my face says 17, my hands say 40 (and I'm neither of those ages, by the way, lol). What I love about this line is that the products are all natural and made in the U.S. with no animal testing. The eye serum targets dark circles and bags to tighten and tone delicate eye skin. Ingredients include almond oil, rosemary essential oil, Baobab oil, Frankincense essential oil and Cypress essential oil. The plant extracts in the hand oil really help to hydrate, soften and enhance the skin on my hands. Just apply a few drops on the back of one hand and then rub the back of your other hand against it to massage in the oil. This creates a protective layer to help prevent moisture loss. Go ahead and try some products from the Healing Natural Oils line and get 20% off with code cheryl20 at checkout!

So I've lived in California for more than five years now. I feel like every year I say that I'm going to do a weekend trip to Seattle and Portland. But, yet another confession, the opportunity never presented itself until this past month. The hubs and I were finally able to visit Seattle as you guys know by now. I pretty much got to see every place on my list and may even do a roundup post on the blog in May. Next up -- Portland -- eventually.

  1. If I see one more person with that cult gaia bag, so sick of it. I really want to visit Seattle and Portland too.

    1. LOL. That's how I feel now. I wish I had bought it months ago because there's no way I'm buying it now. I've never been to Portland but I really, really enjoyed Seattle. You gotta make the trip!

    1. haha, if you really want an ark bag then I guess you'd have to get one in one of the many other colors. I think the Cult Gaia bamboo circle bag that I linked is just as cute -- it's just not available yet.

And yes, check out those healing oils!

  4. I for one don't understand those cage bags. Maybe I'm crazy, but I don't want to be able to see through my bags thankyouverymuch. And as you said, they are everywhere!

  6. LOLZ....I'm so out of it! Never even knew those bags are "in"! I used to see that style in a lot of fashion mags from the 70's (I think). And now...am craving tacos...shame on you, Cheryl!:P

  10. Cage bags are not my thing, I carry so many stuff and coins and little things that I'd have to first place my stuff in a bag and then in the cage bag. Also the idea of showing what's in there is like walking around in a see through skirt without underwear. Ok too graphic.
Well you can find the Cult Gaia look a likes on Etsy or Ebay in the vintage category. A friend picked up a gorgeous one for half the price.
