Get Inspired by Plant Home Decor

I recently bought two plants: a ficus lyrata and a cat palm (see above). Keep in mind, I don't have a green thumb. In order for it to thrive, a cat palm needs to be in a fairly bright room without direct sunlight. Too little light will slow growth while too much light will scorch the leaves. You basically have to find the perfect middle ground. And for the ficus lyrata, it's best to water it only once a week and place it near a sun-facing window. Y'all know that I've only really messed with succulents, so I had no idea that over-watering a plant was even a thing. The more you know!

If you were to look at my saved images on Instagram you'd find a ton of funny/inspirational quotes and indoor plant decor. These are basically the only pictures that I scroll for on Instagram, and I know how strange that sounds. But instead of sharing some silly quotes with you guys here (I already do that every week on my Instastories), I'm going to share some of my favorite plant home decor that's been inspiring me lately. Besides, studies say that having plants in your home can improve your mood, reduce your stress and spark your creativity!

IMPROVE YOUR MOOD. REDUCE YOUR STRESS. SPARK YOUR CREATIVITY.

  2. YES!!! The struggle is real with my cats, because they love indoor plants TOO much but we've found a happy medium with having a few snake plants and hanging planters that they cant reach!

    1. I almost got a snake plant. Saw one on the West Elm site that went straight up and then the leaves fell. But most of the other snake plants I see don't seem to do that.

  9. We've had a money tree in our place for many years. It has thrived because my husband takes care of it. I'm not allowed to go near it because I have a black thumb ;p

  10. I don't have a green thumb as well, but lately, I've been pretty lucky with the plants my mom have been giving me, and like Rowena, we also have a money tree. I take care of that one because it's good luck:D

  11. I love plants indoors, they really are medicinal and help with health also. I didn't used to have a green thumb but after getting an old cottage where I have an actual garden, it inspired me several years ago so now we harvest a lot of produce, etc. No turning back now! These images are very inspiring.

    1. I've since learned that the Zanzibar Gem plant is pretty hard to kill so you might want to look into getting one of those. Also, I've found that the plants in my home work better with indirect sunlight (no direct light at all) and watering only like once a week.

  17. All of those indoor plants look very healthy, and the living spaces they are in look extremely clean and neat with plenty of sunlight. They're delightful to look at.
I think its wonderful to have indoor plants. They add oxygen to the air and a sense of wellbeing. Sadly, I was negligent with watering my plants and they all died off. I may get some more eventually and will probably start off with a few Aloe Vera plants.
