In my recent ELF haul I received 5 free nail polishes with my purchase. Obviously, I have to do a NOTD to showcase each of the free goodies.
I'll start by saying that I did not get to pick the colors so it was all a surprise to me. The first polish I'm trying is called "Innocent" by ELF. My guess is it's called Innocent because it's very light and dainty. Maybe it could have been called "Dainty Innocence" to drive the point home.
With and without flash so you can truly see how light this polish is, which isn't a big deal because I was going for something minimal. So I would suggest this color if that's the look you're intending.
My qualms: I think I would have wanted a shade just a tad bit darker. Also, the bottle is a bit weird (as another blogger mentioned on her review of ELF polishes), and it starts to chip after 3 days of wear. This is 2 coats plus a Sally Hansen top coat.
Overall, I would give "Innocent" by ELF 3.5 out of 5 stars.
...on to the next...
I know some of you have probably heard of La Roux--maybe for a while now. But I live in America and we're always late. We never get anything first and that goes for fashion/music/movies.
I was surprised when I came back from Europe and saw commercials for Iron Man 2 "Opening Friday" after I had seen it in Paris more than a week earlier.
Anyway, I've been really into this duo's song "Bulletproof" so I did some research about this UK band and decided that I enjoy Eleanor Jackson's style.

I mean, it's not near conventional, but I like it. Very fresh.
Have you heard of La Roux? What do you think of Eleanor's style?

I've never tried ELF nail polishes, although I love their other products...I might have to try this one out! I love demure colors like this... I wear bright colors on my toes but always stick to nude colors on my nails.
ReplyDeleteLove La Roux.. she's been in rotation on my iPod for a few months now. Great music!!!

I love La Roux! And that colour is soo nice! :) xx
ReplyDeleteAren't Rihanna and La Roux touring together or something?? It would probably be a really good show!
ReplyDeleteI like that ELF nailpolish, the color is really nice. I'm terrible at keeping color on my nails so I usually go without. I can see myself digging that color.
Thanks for your comment! If you aren't used to baking, don't start with the scones. It's probably best to pass that one to the hubby =)
love her music, not too keen on her style though!
ReplyDeletegorgeous nail polish colour cheryl :)

I love ELF blushes, but have not tested out polishes. This color reminds me of a wet and wild polish.
ReplyDeleteI recently bought so many polishes from e.l.f...like 15 of them! i couldn't pass up the price tag and honestly the colours are great! I loved desert haze and also mod mauve, and with a top coat they don't chip as much. Love this colour on you...I'm wondering if I should have gotten it haha
