As fashion bloggers, we all know that style has no price. So today's outfit post is highlighting that great adage by participating in Recessionista Chic by the Dolls Factory. The total price of the outfit has to be $75 or under. My outfit has a red, white and blue color scheme and was inspired by this quote:
"In times of crisis, fashion bloggers show that you can have style at any price!"
This is my inspiring style!
This quote is even more resounding now after the Dolls Factory and I had a long conversation about fashion bloggers wearing price tags in their outfit posts because they feel like blogging is a style competition. This was in regard to a great post she wrote.
What do you think: Is blogging a style competition?
I also wore this to the Desert Botanical Gardens, but I switched out the booties for my bomber jacket instead!

LOVE your outfit!
ReplyDeletelove the back of that white shirt you are wearing! you did a great job with this recessionista project
ReplyDeleteYou look so hot, I love your outfit :-)
ReplyDeleteI mainly wear inexpensive clothes *g*
In my opinion, blogging shouldn't be competitive in general, no matter what you blog about, it should be fun. Unfortunately I, too, noticed that some people see it as a competition, though.
Very cool . Love the drape of the cardigan.
ReplyDeleteThat shirt is so cool! True - style can be at any price but I definitely think some style bloggers are not necessarily in competition but always upping the ante!
ReplyDeleteIt is HIGHLY indecent that you can wear shorts in February, Cher. Just need you to know that. Outfit is way cute though.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I like the headband a lot more with your hair longer.
wow those booties are killer. i mean killer. its hotness in a shoe. i can not believe it how amazing they look on u. love it.

ReplyDeleteYou look AMAZING. I love this outfit!! :)
ReplyDeleteOh dear, I really hope blogging isn't a style competition. I'm afraid I wouldn't be doing very well then, lol. I do love fashion blogs for their inspiration. I feel like I've gotten braver in my styling choices since joining this lovely community two years ago. xoxo
You look adorable! I love both looks. CUTE SHOES!!
ReplyDeletei love ur boots and yeah i think blogging in general can turn out to be a popularity contest or a competition against others, i think thats kinda bad though since mots people start blogging for themselves and then end up feeling like they have to please everyone with their posts :/

ReplyDeleteGreat outfit. I love the white vest!!
ReplyDeleteI don't think style blogging is a competition, it is a form of self-expression, and more importantly it is a community. I love your outfit, I think that's a great idea to give yourself a budget and work within it.

I like the poses. You look great in the Wetseal red top with the Lanvin for H&M tote and the booties. You look like you're in good shape, which reminds me - I should exercise more. Thanks for the comment on my blog!
