Makeup and Muses
The Best Food for the Best Beauty
A ton of makeup and skin care items are on the market and just about all of them promise dramatic results, the best finish, the most even tone, etc. But sometimes, the best way to get the best out of your makeup and skincare items is by looking at the ingredients instead of the promises.
Beauty products with natural food ingredients are typically better for your skin. And you can even take it a step further and create homemade concoctions that will truly work--or just eat certain foods that will give you clearer, smoother skin in no time.
Take a look at some options for your skin, like this Aura Cacia avocado skin care oil that rejuvenates dry skin.

Avocados - Avocados are great when it comes to chips and dip and also when it comes to beautifying a dull and dry complexion--and this is coming from a girl who doesn't really even like avocados, but who does have dry skin, as mentioned in my previous makeup and muses post.
The fruit contains the B vitamin Niacin, which is great for treating red, blotchy skin. You can eat avocados, blend them in a berry smoothie or pile them on like a face mask.
Mangoes - Unlike the avocado, I am a mango's biggest fan. This most likely stems from the fact that I am from the Caribbean so I grew up with mango trees and pretty much had them as a staple my entire life.
Apples to you are like mangoes to me, which is why I love that they contain so much vitamin A.
This fruit not only fights free radicals, but it is also low on calories for anyone watching their weight.
Get something like this ELF pineapple and mango hand cream to repair skin cells.
Almonds - I think a lot of us are already aware of the great benefits of almonds when it comes to our health. But these are also great when it comes to giving you a better complexion.
The vitamin E contained in almonds is ideal for providing your skin with moisture and protecting it against premature aging like fine lines and wrinkles.
Try out Girl Meets Pearl by Benefit Cosmetics, with its liquid pearl that adds a radiant glow to your complexion.
Choose to wear it over makeup or by itself. It includes raspberry, camomile, sesame oil and almond seed to make your skin appear more firm and smooth.

By the way, I like to keep it light on the Muse, but I heard in the news yesterday after I got back from my weekend in L.A. (pics to come, including a mini blogger meetup) that apparently Osama Bin Laden is dead. I'm curious to see how this will sway the 2012 election.

ReplyDeleteIn fact, one of my night creams is a pure Aloe Vera gel that doesn't seem to do much outwardly but I believe does much to retain the skin's condition. :)

ReplyDeletei actually heard the big news about osama on twitter. i was shocked at first but as u said or asked it probably was something it should have been done for the election next year. showing how obama has killed the bag guy while the republicans had failed.
