Fashion Beauty Friend Friday
Vacation Style ~ What I'm Packing
Today's Fashion Beauty Friend Friday post is all about summer and what you'd pack for a vacation. Now, I'm not currently on vacation but I would like to take some trips to New York, Vegas and San Francisco some time soon. But I'm so used to going to the beach in the summer so that's what this post is all about!
♥When it comes to packing for vacation what’s your mantra?
I actually quite enjoy packing, especially for a great vacay. I tend to pack a few days early and put together my favorite pieces to make sure I'll have everything I need. And yes, I tend to pack a bit extra--more tops, more shoes, more accessories.
♥What are your must packs?
I have to pack just about all my jewelry because I never know what I'll actually want to wear when on vacation. Hats, sunnies and lip gloss are other must-haves.
♥What are you happy to leave behind?
Although I love blogging, I'm totally happy to leave the laptop behind. It's great feeling a bit disconnected and without any computer-Internet responsibilities. But I guess I'm never completely away as I do get the Internet on my phone...and I kinda want an iPad. Ugh, technology will be the death of me!
♥Any packing secrets that help you get everything into one
suitcase?
Yes! My mom taught me when I was younger to roll my clothes instead of folding them. That always saves more space while also keeping the creases out of your clothes. I also tend to pack more tops than bottoms so that also saves space.
♥Beach reading… what are you taking with you to read in the sand?
Definitely taking magazines--probably W or something like that. Since I have a Nook I'd most likely add a few new books to it so I can have a variety of options.
How do you pack for a summer vacay?

ReplyDeleteLove this post!! I tend to try to pack light, but my must pack would be something fancy to wear out because you just never know if plans unexpectedly change. You need to look your best, right? :)

Packing for a vacation is a total joke for me.
ReplyDeleteI seriously take 5 suitcases for a 3-day trip.
I once packed 18 pairs of shoes for a 2-day trip.
I'm not kidding.

ReplyDeleteI would die without my internet - I have so much respect for people that can just walk away from it. I get antsy if I don't check my email for 5 hours. Seriously, I have a problem.

Great packing advice! The rolling vs folding of clothes is something I actually learned from my guy... how weird. I also think that buying toileteries at your destination (or at the airport after security) saves a lot of hassle.
ReplyDeleteAhhh, the beach. Like you, when I go away I am very happy to forget all about my laptop. Bliss!! :)SarahD
ReplyDeleteJewelry and accessories are always so hard to narrow down when you travel!
ReplyDeleteI roll as well to save space!
Have a lovely weekend dear!

ReplyDeleteI am not a huge beach fan, but when I get coaxed into going to one lol I tend to pack fashion mags, swimming trunks and lightweight fabrics in bold colors. Oh and of course sunscreen!

I love packing, too, and also roll my clothes instead of folding them! I think this simple tip is why my girlfriends are always so impressed by how ability to pack everything I need for 3-4 days in a carry on bag. :)
