This may be the most expensive H&M designer collaboration yet! But it is quite pretty, though. Coming Nov. 5 (yes, tomorrow), you can shop the highly anticipated Balmain for H&M collection both online and in stores. Oh, and there are a few pieces under $100 for both women and men.
Judging by the Versace collab a few years ago, I don't think it will make the most sense to shop H&M in store. I remember waiting in line for hours; getting a colored wristband; and having 20 minutes to shop before the next wave of crazed-eyed ladies rushed in. I even remember being told that there were limits to the amount of items you could purchase, but I don't remember that rule being followed. And who could forget the inflated prices on eBay just hours later?
But now that H&M sells items online, I think that will be my best bet (or waking up at 4 a.m. to get in line by 5 on a Thursday morning). Here are some of my favorite pieces (and their prices) from the Balmain x H&M collection. Click here to see the full list. And they have men's apparel and accessories, too, but I honestly don't think you can get the average guy to wear any of it.

Oh geez, I remember Target days over here being much like that. The first collab was Stella McCartney and I waited in line for that. It was MADNESS Ended up returning my purchases then regretting that decision. Of course it was sold out by then and ebay was nuts with crap triple the price. We don't get that excited about them anymore lol. Though I do think Balmain x H&M will cause a stir for sure.

It's pretty pricey for H&M but for Balmain it's like a fraction of the price. I think online is the way to go with shopping this one.

I am so glad they extended collaboration purchases online now. I definitely do not want to wake up the crack of dawn to risk making a wrong purchase or feel rushed! But I do agree with you that this collaboration is pretty awesome!

I saw the whole collection with the prices earlier and was surprised at how expensive some of the items were! But I guess, as Rowena said, it is cheaper than the actual Balmain...hehe....Good luck, Cheryl! Fingers crossed for you.

ReplyDeleteI went to the media presale yesterday and it was madness. There was only 1 group of 30 before me and by the time I got in, everything was gone. You are so lucky you can shop online in the US, we don't have that option in Canada :(
