What I'm Loving August 2016

Like the rest of the world, I am definitely watching the Rio 2016 Olympics. Even though I thought it was going to be a complete shit-show a month ago (and to some extent, it still is with all the craziness of the Zika virus, pools turning green, media coverage being sexist, etc), I am still watching it a couple hours a day. My main summer Olympic sports to watch are gymnastics (go team Final Five!), volleyball, tennis and track and field. And I'm not going to lie, I've even been into the swimming and diving this year as well. Are you guys watching? If so, what's been your favorite moment of the Olympics thus far? As I type this, USA has 12 golds and 33 medals overall.

Jewelry pieces that you can personalize are the best! That's why I really love the Coordinates Collection, which is an L.A.-based company that allows you to customize your own bracelets, necklaces and rings with memorable coordinates and engravings. I own the Legend Pop bracelet from the Coordinates Collection and I love how I was able to easily add in the longitudinal and latitudinal points of the city of Islamorada, which is where I got married. I also had my wedding date and my and Ari's names etched on the inside of the bracelet as well. Right now you can get 15% off any purchase with code happybdaycoco during their anniversary sale!

You guys know how much I love to read, so here's the latest edition to my library: Dark Matter by Blake Crouch. If the author sounds familiar, it's because he wrote Wayward Pines. If the book sounds familiar, it's probably because it's being made into a movie. Anyway, I chose this novel to take a step away from the Gone Girl style books and to get back to the dystopian style. Here's a little description to give you a feel of what Dark Matter is all about:

"Are you happy with your life?" Those are the last words Jason Dessen hears before the masked abductor knocks him unconscious. In the world he's woken up to, Jason's life is not the one he knows. His wife is not his wife. His son was never born. Is it this world or the other that's the dream? And even if the home he remembers is real, how can Jason possibly make it back?

I was recently introduced to the PÜR brand and I'm so happy for that because I've become a big fan of their cheek stains. You remember seeing them on my Instagram? My two favorite shades right now are Peach Bellini and Cabernet (such great names)! They also come in Prosecco and Rosé, of course. So, just to keep it simple, a cheek stain is basically what PÜR calls a blush. The gel-like blush tint is on one end of the stick and a blending brush is on the other end. Dab the stain on your cheeks directly and then use the brush to blend upward and outward.

  1. I always love your picks babe :) Hope you having a good week and a good friday xxx

  2. I saw those cheek stains on your IG and thought they looked cool. The packaging is awesome too! I've been somewhat following the Olympics too but baseball has more of my attention right now.

  3. I have not seen 5 seconds of the Olympics...
I love the Coordinates collection ! I had not seen it -

  4. I am only catching Olympic highlights in news and social media.

Loving the jewelry, I see here. Also will check out that book. :)

  5. Dark Matter sounds really interesting. Will add that to my to-read list. And yes...Olympics is about the only time I really watch anything sports-related. My fave moment so far has been the trampoline gymnastics, just because us Canucks really love Rosie MacLennan who won the gold:)

  6. Dark Matter sounds fascinating, and I love watching the Olympics :)

  7. I totally agree and am also loving all these things! thanks for sharing. Happy weekend!

  8. Loving the jewelry, and I have yet to try these PUR cheek stains but they look pretty cool. You know I'm always all about the makeup ;) xx Adaleta Avdic
