These photos were taken a few weeks ago in the middle of downtown on a busy Saturday. Plans for that day included catching a movie, shopping for some sports gear, grabbing dinner and sketching out some birthday ideas. Being that I was downtown on a weekend, I had a fair share of passersby while taking these pics. That's not uncommon.
But you know what was uncommon? In the middle of my shoot, while I took a moment to see how the photos were turning out, a young lady approached me and asked if I was a blogger. I don't think I've ever been asked this question in the middle of a shoot before. I told her that I do blog and that I've been doing so for many years. She then told me that she was trying to start a blog but was shy about showing her face on the internet. She asked if she could follow me on Instagram, so I gave her my handle and told her that it would be totally OK if she shied her face away from the camera for her photos. I've definitely seen that done before. She asked if it would be cool if we grabbed lunch some time to talk about blogging and I told her that was fine.
And this is an example of what moves me as a blogger. Yes, I'm definitely moved by the new spring arrivals at Banana Republic and the Cushnie Et Ochs runway show at NYFW this year (everything was just so damn pretty and wearable). But I'm also moved when I feel like I'm inspiring others with this little site on the internet. I'm happy that this complete stranger took a couple minutes out of her day to stop, say hello and give me a reminder that I still enjoy what I do. How could you not be moved by that? Before she approached me, she yelled this out while I was being photographed.
"I love the way you pose."
I should also mention how I went to Target for groceries and left with this super cute Who What Wear ring mini bag. The bag is definitely only big enough for the necessary essentials, but it's just so perfect with its cognac color tone and bold circular gold handles. You can wear it as a crossbody like I did here, or get rid of the straps and use the fun gold handles. And speaking of Target, this Baublebar choker necklace that I'm wearing is actually from their new jewelry line at Target called SUGARFIX. Designed by Baublebar and sold at Target, the average jewelry price will be $15 and new collections will arrive every month!

I feel you. Actually, when I go out for shoots, we get approached ALL. THE. TIME. "Are you a model? Are you a blogger? What are you doing? You should pose like this. I'm a photographer - can I shoot you too? Are you married?" LOL! You name it, I've heard it all. And don't even get me started on the photobombing.
