Makeup and Muses
Recently I was given the opportunity to try out the PMD Personal Microderm, which can be purchased at SkinCareRx. I was more than ecstatic as I've been wanting to try out one of these at home microdermabrasion systems for quite a while now.
The PMD comes with the microderm, five exfoliating discs, one facial cap, one body cap, one reusable filter and the electric cord. The exfoliating discs come in blue and green, where blue is for more sensitive skin types (like mine) and green is good for tougher skin types and more aggressive use.
Also included an instructional CD and guide and a M2 serum and moisturizer. All discs come in a large size and a small size. The large disc is great for larger skin sections like your neck while the small disc is better for tight spots around your nose.
Using the PMD
First be sure to cleanse your face (if you are using it on your face) and pat completely dry. It would also be beneficial to use the included serum and moisturizer the night before you use the PMD. Also pull your hair off your face.
When I first placed the PMD on my skin I was actually quite taken aback. The PMD is supposed to create a suction on your skin, but the idea of a skin suction just freaked me out at first. Use your fingers to make your skin taught and then glide the PMD in a vertical motion across your skin.
As the introduction video states, you are not supposed to stay in one place for too long, but I think it's a bit difficult to not do this your first time as you are trying to get used to the suction idea. I found it to be a lot easier to use the PMD across my forehead and chin where my skin is more firm anyway. The cheek area was not as easy so I actually ended up with some skin irritation--plus I have sensitive skin to begin with so that was probably bound to happen.
The best way to avoid skin irritation is to use the blue discs, especially if you have sensitive skin, and to quickly glide the PMD over your face without hovering in one spot. I would recommend trying it on your hand or some other area of your body first until you get the hang of it. Only use the PMD once a week and in continuance with a daily treatment of the M2 serum and moisturizer that come with the product. This is how you can attain the best results.
Overall rating -- ♥♥♥
I've only used it once, but I think I can definitely let you know if this product is a keeper after a couple more tries when I start to see results.

I also went ahead and got a couple more products from Apothica that I really wanted to try.
Eminence Starter Set for Dry Skin
Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo
Have you used any of these products including the Personal Microderm?

Interesting, I have not used the PMD. The suction would be kind of weird for me too. Once a week seems doable, I'd probably forget to do it though!! thanks for sharing this review! -xxoo

I remember last year when I was in Manila before my flight in Bangkok that a friend of my Aunt came over to her house with a bunch of ladies carrying these kind of product...they made an introduction and some visual presentation before letting my mom and my aunts get a free session but of course they will always bug you to buy one hahahhaa...I guess my mom is not a fan since she is afraid that it might be a failure on her part...but please do keep us updated...you look so cute...
