Spring Swimwear Styles

Here's hoping that you've kept your New Year's resolutions, because like it or not, bathing suit season is just around the corner! Not looking forward to it yet? Don't worry, you still have a few weeks to get yourself bikini ready. In the meantime, excite yourself with some of these suits expected to dominate the beaches this season. Velvet source

Believe it or not, velvet bathing suits actually do exist. In fact, the fabric was once a popular choice for women's bathing suits in the 1940s and '50s. GlamAmor even found pictures of Marilyn Monroe sporting a velvet one piece during a photo shoot, complete with a strappy pair of high heels.
Today, the velvet craze is experiencing a resurgence in popularity from the runways to the causeways. After covering all the action on the red carpet, InStyle writer Andrea Cheng said that "judging by the 2016 Golden Globes red carpet, it looks like the trend is still going strong." So feel free to indulge in a crushed velvet suit or two this season. Fringe
If something is extremely popular one season, the buzz surrounding it usually dies down considerably the next, but that's not the case for one fun fashion detail—fringe. A few years ago, before the current fringe trend was in full force, fringe-lined bathing suits saw a huge rise in popularity. Thankfully for all of us who bought one at the time, the current trend has brought those suits back as some of the most popular styles for the upcoming season. Hollywood Life recommends the fringe style for women with smaller busts. It adds a fun detail that also gives the illusion that you're more endowed. Athletic Suits
If you check out the 2016 collections presented on Woman Within, you'll notice a lot of sporty, athletic swimwear side by side with your classic bikinis. It's a result of the athleisure trend spilling over into swimwear, combining classic swimsuits with athletic apparel. So even if all you intend on doing is sipping Mai Tais poolside this spring, you can still look like you're ready to swim the 100-meter relay in an athletic-inspired one piece. The athletic style is great for those who need a suit that flatters their shape. One-piece varieties can be outfitted with bust shapers, tummy tamers, thigh and hip trimmers, and total solution suits that hug you in all the right places. The first day of spring will be here in a little over a week, so grab a few of these trendy suit styles before it's too late!
