Note Taking With Paper Mate InkJoy Gel Pens

It's April Fools' Day, but I'm not playing any practical jokes on you muses. It's Friday and that's really all that matters! But what I am doing is sharing a little piece of my office space today. This table doubles as my makeup vanity and my desk. I actually have a desk right next to it, but we generally reserve that for the desktop and I use the laptop and my knick-knacks here.

A few items that I love having nearby when it comes to desk duty are flowers (big fan of long-lasting spider mums), inspirational quotes and fun notebooks and pens. In the age of the phone memo, I still enjoy taking handwritten notes. I find that it actually makes it easier for me to stay on top of things and gather my thoughts when I physically write them down.
I used to use regular pens for my creative note-taking, but now that I've been using the Paper Mate InkJoy Gel pens, there's simply no turning back. They don't smear, they're super colorful, they write smoothly, and I have like 14 of them so I'm set for life!

And I love taking notes in my Kate Spade Take Note notebook, of course. How could you not? The gold foil and color are too cute, and it's the perfect accessory for my InkJoy gel pen. You know what else is great? This Chic Happens tray is back in stock! And I found a similar gold feather tray as well. Shop the links at the end of the post.
My typical note taking consists of Instagram loop reminders, orders and arrival dates, blog collaborations, shopping lists and more. What I really love about hand-written note taking is the ability to cross everything out once the task has been completed. I know that's possible to do on your phone, but there's a different kind of joy that comes with physically crossing something off a list. Maybe there are other anal-retentive diligent people out there who understand?

Are you into hand-written notes? I've heard that some schools in certain states have gotten rid of cursive classes as they've deemed it to be irrelevant. I think that's quite sad as I've always loved good penmanship! I bet more people would appreciate it, too, if they were working with Paper Mate InkJoy Gel pens!

  2. Your desk/vanity looks lovely., the feather tray is adorable too with the colourful pens. Yes to gold accents, that's what I love for desk pieces, I actually just bought some golden shears for cutting fabric.

  8. I honestly can't remember the last time I used gel pens but I know I was OBSESSED with them when I was younger. I remember buying those big tubs of them so I had every single color of the rainbow, it was epic. Your post makes me want to grab a few now ;) xx adaatude.com

  9. Great office! I've always loved god pens and penmanship too. We had cursive at my school, and I'm glad.

  10. I have terrible handwriting, but I love handwritten notes, and it makes me so sad that some schools are doing away with handwriting. I need to find those pens :)
