The Circle Circle, Dot Dot

These were taken at City Hall. It's my favorite place in San Jose for taking photos. I mean, just look at this massive wall that provides the perfect backdrop. There are a few other spots here that are perfect for photos (like this | this | this | this | this | this). The only downside to taking photos here is the cast of characters. The downtown dregs can sometimes make smiling into a camera uncomfortable, but you do what you gotta do. Do you have special places where you like to take your photos? How comfortable are you taking outfit pics outside?

This Maison Jules polka dot dress is super comfortable. And even though it's a midi, I can basically wear it as a maxi dress since I'm short. I like it loose and flowy or knotted at the side for a more unique look. I simply can't get over the beautiful burnt brick color and keyhole neck detail with this one. What do you think? Leave your thoughts below in the comments!

Here are a couple other Maison Jules pieces that I think you'll love: all comfy and affordable!

  2. This is a lovely dress, Cheryl:) I love anything with a keyhole neck. And I really feel conscious taking pics in public esp. since I'm usually just using a timer on the cam.:P Hence, the garage or the backyard for me...sigh...

PS I finally did see GoT on Monday.....I'm really loving Arya's story right now, and was so surprised about Rickon!

  4. If I had this back drop it would also be one of my faves. I have to settle for my dirty parking wall as a daily backdrop...
Oh and I live the dress, specially how you tied the knot.

  6. The red colour, drape, and airy look of the fabric of your Maison Jules polka dot dress are beautiful - perfect for Spring. I love the flowy look and keyhole neck detail. I also love how you styled it,
with your dark blue denim jacket, wide brim hat and sunnies.
