Remember the wine colored stole that I wore back in October? Well, do you remember how I lost it? I'm so happy that I was finally able to replace it with this new color block stole from Express. The added colors and length make this one a much bolder accessory, but I really can't complain. And I actually have a similar side zip Michael Kors sweater that I wore back in 2013, but this one has a little extra with its distressed vibe. Why do we wear distressed clothing in the winter? I have no idea. We either like to make fools of ourselves or truly believe that fashion hurts.
What I really like about this particular look is how the accent pieces come together to complete the outfit. Like how the tan colors in the stole bring out the tan in the wide brim hat; or how the burgundy shades in the stole complement the Zara ballerina flats. You'll want to get your hands on the ballerina flats that I've linked below before the sizes are all sold out. The lace-up detail on them is the cutest.
Oh, and over the weekend I had a great time at The Makeup Date event hosted at Bloomingdale's in Palo Alto. This isn't what I wore, though. But I did learn about a lot of wonderful beauty items and got the chance to spend some time with some Bay Area blogger babes. Do you guys enjoy meeting up with other bloggers?
And this is not only the last look in January, but also the last post. So with that being said, how did the first month of the new year treat you? Were there big changes? If you make resolutions, did you stick to any of them? Are you looking forward to February (it's my birthday month)? What did January teach you to help you grow as a person?

That's an interesting look. Love the colors of tat stole. January was fabulous for me personally (globally, eye roll) and I did stick to my eating habits of the majority of the month. Feb. is my birth month too.
