NOIR LASH LOUNGE
Recently I was invited by Joyce Poon, founder of Noir Lash Lounge to the newly opened location in San Francisco. The Noir Lash Lounge carries the largest selection of eyelash extensions (more than 100 sizes) and are able to apply them without clumps or tangled flares. You might have heard me complain in the past about not having much in the way of eyebrows or eyelashes. So I jumped on the opportunity to get a complimentary full set of lash extensions. The Noir Lash Lounge extensions are either synthetic mink or polyester and are vegan and 100% cruelty free. What I really love about these is that the lashes are applied individually and laid on top of my own lashes. They are attached with an adhesive that's latex and formaldehyde free. The lash set can last anywhere from two to eight weeks.
My lash technician, Latrice, was very skilled and down to earth. I was very comfortable with her, even though I had my eyes closed for the entire process, which takes about an hour and 30 minutes. I opted for a full set of the classic eyelash extensions, but you could also do fillings, faux mink sets, dramatic volume sets or other options.
If you're in California, Washington or Canada, then you have to stop by your nearest Noir Lash Lounge to get fuller, realistic lash extensions. You'll get a close up of mine in Monday's post!

DIRTY HABIT SF
It was a full day in the city as I headed over to Dirty Habit SF later in the day for dinner. This bar and restaurant, located in Hotel Zelos in SOMA, is known for having one of the largest selections of small-batch whisky and a rare outdoor patio. The hubs and I were treated to an array of small bites and spirit-forward cocktails. The food and drinks were simple, seasonal and delicious, and the fire pit really elevated the atmosphere. My favorite dishes sent out by Dylnne, our server, included the Dungeness crab dumplings with smoked ham hock and black beans and the stuffed ravioli with asparagus and mushrooms, that wasn't yet available on the menu. My husband's favorite was the Mt. Lassen trout with cilantro, peanuts and iceberg salad.
For dessert, I enjoyed the orange blossom and lemon chiffon citrus parfait while the hubs delighted in the chocolate bunyols with a side of Vietnamese coffee ice cream. If I were a fan of chocolate ganache then I would have liked these more, but I still enjoyed hearing that the idea for this dessert was based on a play on rocks and dirt.
We were given so many great cocktails that it was hard to keep up, but I'm not complaining. I asked for something that didn't have a heavy alcohol taste, and I was given the Tom Yom Sour, which was a mix of gin, tamarind and more. But Dirty Habit SF has a bevy of drinks to suit any taste bud, from the smoky Smoked Bohemian to the lighter Spring Is Calling and even the more seasonal Bonzai. If you're in San Francisco, make a reservation at Dirty Habit!

Our day out ended with a fun Paint Nite with friends in Alameda. I had never really done one of these before, but I really loved the concept. How could you not like a glass of wine, good background music and your own art masterpiece?
This looked so cool. Love the interiors, great food too. Happy weekend x
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to try to get my lashes done but too scared. Ugh, ever since I lost my lashes they haven't grown back to the way they were. Maybe I'll look into something similar in Chicago!

I'm sure there is something similar in Chicago. No reason to be scared. The process took about 90 minutes and your eyes are closed the entire time. You could fall asleep if you wanted to because you don't feel when they attach the false lash to your natural lash.
DeleteOoh I've stayed in Hotel Zelos and didn't realize that Dirty Habit had such a great concept. The crab dumplings sound fab!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to get my lashes done too! My eyelash curler has pulled some out and my poor lashes are so sparse in places!
Oh you've been to Hotel Zelos? The hotel, itself, is pretty nice. I think it would be kind of hard to realize that Dirty Habit was there as it seems a bit hidden. But if you ever come back, then check it out for sure -- and get your lashes done too. :)
DeleteLooking forward to seeing your lashes closeup and learning more about the process! Lash extensions have always intrigued me.
ReplyDeleteLove that the dessert is based on rocks and dirt. How fun and yummy looking!
ReplyDeleteI love lashes, they make the eye really pop! All that food looks really yummy to!
