At First Blush

This past weekend (actually since last Wednesday), the hubs and I took a trip to Seattle. It was our first time visiting so we were super excited to check out all the spots, eat all the food, drink all the coffee and wear all the flannel, lol. But I didn't limit myself to just flannel alone. I knew that I wanted to be able to walk around the city comfortably, so I packed my new blush sneakers and got going.

I gotta tell ya, these Carda blush sneakers from Creative Recreation weren't actually my first choice when perusing the site. But I'm so happy that I got them because how can you say no to blush toned shoes? And once I realized I had the perfect outfit to complement the sneakers, I knew I had to rock this look while exploring Seattle. And yes, it rained, so I was very happy that I had opted for sneakers and not sandals or heels.

The sneakers come from the new Creative Recreation spring line for women that I totally love. Plus, they gave me another reason to rock my overalls, which I haven't worn on the blog in a year. This post also shows that I do wear my outfits more than once! The overalls I wore back in April 2016, and you guys might remember when I wore this ribbed choker tee just a few months ago.

Lastly, we had an issue when we booked our hotel for this Seattle trip. We thought we had a room but apparently, we didn't, so we had to make a last-minute Airbnb push. At first, I was wary. I've stayed in many home stays all over, but for this time, I wanted to stay in a hotel. I'm one of those people who really loves staying in hotels. But I was pleasantly surprised by the photos of the Airbnb apartment, so we went ahead and booked. Unfortunately, when we arrived at the Airbnb, the apartment was not the apartment in the photos. We called up the listing contact and they said that indeed it was not the apartment in the photos, but that they were not going to give us a partial refund. Who does that? After explaining how misleading their posting was, they decided that they didn't want to deal with us, so they said we should leave the apartment and they'd give us a full refund.

I was taken aback that they'd rather give a full refund (and get a bad review) than give us a partial refund and be accommodating. But people do a lot of things in this world that I don't understand. Anyway, after trying desperately to find a new place last minute (and amid a coffee convention), we were finally able to get a beautiful room with a view of the Space Needle at the Crowne Plaza hotel.

But, all in all, these blush shoes though...😍

  2. I do love those blush sneakers. I am i the market for one! That is so unfortunate about your Airbnb but at least you got your money back. When we were there we stayed at Hotel 5 and we could not have been more pleased!

  3. Ugh, what a pain with the Airbnb situation! I've had good experiences with Airbnb so far, but like you, I'm all about the hotels more. I just like coming back to a made bed and clean towels each night. It's part of what makes vacations so fun! I'm glad it all worked out, though. And I'm glad you scored those pretty sneakers for exploring!

  4. Argh! Sorry to hear about that Airbnb experience:( I've only known a few people to have stayed in one, and so far they've all liked it, so this is hopefully just a one off-thing.
But yay for the awesome shoes!

  8. You are super cute and so girly in this outfit and I love it all. False advertising is more popular these days and I'm sure a review from you is forthcoming. Enjoy your week.

  9. First off, I'm in love with this outfit on you and I really want those shoes!! Also, I live in Seattle and am so sorry you had such a crappy experience with the AirBnb people. Who does do that? It's awful! We've had such bad weather lately that I hope you got a pocket of our sunshine too!

  11. Firstly such a cute look. I LOVE your shoes. I want one in the color. Secondly, I can't believe that that airbnb would choose to be so unaccommodating. But like you said people are weird and I don't get why people do half the shit they do.

P.S. To answer your question on my post. I couldn't leave the room. I was at someone's house for a party and she was the host's Mom and it would have been rude. Agrh!

  16. Seattle is such a fun and artful city. I saw that you had Airbnb issues on your Instagram. That's quite a pity-- I've only had positive experinces with them but this was definitely an eye opener. Great outfit! :)
