Don't hold me to this, but I SWEAR I'm going to stop shopping online, which practically means I'll probably have to stop shopping, period. Basically, 90% of the time I shop online, but I've had too many issues with online ordering lately. For instance, I was supposed to wear a ruffle striped playsuit from Boohoo on the blog today. It was scheduled to be delivered last Friday, which is fine, because I work from home. I'm pretty much always at home unless I need to run some errands.
So last Friday I was home all day except to run some errands at 3:30. I got back home at 4:45. Do you know what I see on my front door? A stupid sorry we missed you package delivery sticker saying that my item would be re-delivered on July 3. Are you kidding me? Packages that need signatures (why? why the hell did this item of clothing need a signature?) always deliver when I'm not home -- the one hour in the day that I'm not home.
This is what I get for looking for a 4th of July look and trying to be patriotic. Thanks, Obama. ;)
It was my initial plan to wear that romper at a 4th of July party I attended on Saturday, but clearly that didn't happen. So, instead, I did what I hate doing the most: I went to the mall on a weekend. Luckily, it was early and the mall was practically empty. That's where I scored this outfit. I have a hard time shopping in stores because I find that it's just so difficult trying to figure out where things are. Stores should be more like their websites and have a search feature so I know where to find "pom pom crop tops" and other specific items when I need them.
I paired this crop top and high waist denim with these red flats that you might remember from this midi dress look, and I also incorporated this bandana to tie it all together. I seriously don't wear a lot of red so I only like to add it into my look with accessories, if possible. If you look at my past couple of 4th of July looks: | July 4th 2016 -- Lust for Lashes | July 4th 2015 -- Pretty Periwinkle | then you'll see just how true this is -- and how much I prefer the color blue.
Anyway, I had a pretty good time at the 4th of July party. Just a few of us eating grilled meats, drinking cocktails and making s'mores on a front yard fire pit. You might have seen that on my Instastory. It's weird to have a fire pit in the front of a house, but I guess it's a good way to meet your neighbors. Fact about me: this was only the second time I'd eaten a s'more. How did you guys spend your long 4th of July weekend? Plans to watch the fireworks tomorrow night? And thanks so much for those who responded to the expiry date post from last week!

I hardly see anything I want in stores anymore so shopping online for me is best too, but the same thing has happened to me with packages so I feel your pain lol . You look amazing though and it sounds like you had a awesome time at the party :) xx

ReplyDeleteI saw your stories. I too don't get when mundane things need signature. I didn't do much this weekend. I stayed in and watched a lot of movies :D

ReplyDeleteThat pom pom cropped top is such a fun piece, Cheryl:) And yeah....one time, I was home the whole day and stepped out for literally 30 minutes. That's when the "signature required" package came. Grrrrrr! And yay for President Obama:D

Bummer about not getting your delivery on time... on the bright side: that top is fab and you look amazing in it.
ReplyDeleteI am totally the same way - online shopping ALL day. This top is absolutely gorgeous though! Sometimes the mall has some serious hidden treasures. Have a good holiday!
ReplyDeleteYou're looking amazing in that Forever 21off-the-shoulder pom pom top and Forever 21 high-waisted skinny jeans!!! I've been lucky so far and haven't run into one of those "sorry we missed you" delivery stickers YET. Sorry to read that Murphy's Law got you on your delivery, but now that you have it your OOTD looks fabulous.
