Fall 2017 Trends

Happy Halloween! I'm not really doing anything for Halloween this year -- it's weird when it falls in the middle of the week. So I figured I might as well just jump into something more fall-centric since it's basically November.

These are just a few of the fall 2017 trends that I've noticed all over my Instagram lately. I've seen some side cut-out flats like the ones I featured in my Shopbop fall wish list at the start of October. Here you'll find those versions and a less expensive dupe as well. Also when it comes to shoes, I've always been into heeled mules, but it appears that a lot more people are into them this autumn. I own those Who What Wear x Target gray mules and I'm not gonna lie -- they are way comfier than they look.

Plaid jackets and embellished sweaters are also out in full force this fall. I have the Who What Wear x Target plaid varsity bomber jacket seen here, which you'll soon see on the Muse. A lot of people are also wearing plaid pants in chic ways. The embellishments on the sweaters range from a simple foldover style to a more in your face pearl or pom pom design. A foldover look is a style that will probably have more staying power, while the other embellishments are a bit more trendy. But we just can't seem to get enough of pom poms!

Last, but certainly not least, are berets! This is a fall trend that I haven't yet taken on (it simply isn't cold enough here). But I do love the berets with fun detail like star patterns or, of course, more pom poms. With my hair as big as it is at the moment, berets might work better for me than my go-to brim hats.
