A couple weekends ago I attended a Beauty Brunch hosted by 100% Pure. You guys remember that I worked with them to create this Halloween makeup look. So the company invited some Bay Area bloggers to a beautiful house in the Palo Alto area. We had the opportunity to mingle, drink, eat, make our own lipsticks and learn more about 100% Pure.
I hope you were able to sneak a peek at the event via my Instastories, but if not, just enjoy the photos here. Being a blogger event, I knew that I had to wear something cute, so I opted for this ruffle top by Stylekeepers. The top comes in both white and black and both colors are currently 40-50% off. I'm also giving myself a pat on the back for wearing white to a brunch and leaving without any stains.
The owner of 100% Pure, Susie Wang, told us a lot about her reason for starting the company and the truth behind some other beauty and skin care products. Basically, just because something says "no animal testing" doesn't actually mean animals were not involved in the creation process. Just make sure you triple check your makeup. 100% Pure uses fruit dyed makeup that's all natural.
I was also able to catch up with some of my local Bay Area blogger babes, which is always a good time. And I got to meet a few new faces as well. Shoutout to the ladies: Alyson | Grace | Monica | Ashleigh | Bianca | Safi |

What a gorgeous setting for brunch! It's actually quite disturbing to learn that even when something says no animal testing it might not actually mean that at all.
ReplyDeleteHow do you pull off ruffles?! I'd look ridiculous :P
ReplyDeleteThe event decor is just too pretty and definitely Instagram worthy! And you look fabulous too. It's unsettling to learn that even thou a label says no animal testing it, animals might have still been involved in the process. That's just not right!

I won't use chemicals on my skin. So I'm very familiar with the 100% Pure brand. How amazing that you got invited to a conference with the owner. I believe that their makeup really is composed of things like fruit extracts. I once went hiking wearing their mascara and I had bugs buzzing all around my head, wanting the fruit. Lesson learned. You don't need mascara (especially natural mascara) to go hiking!
ReplyDeleteAmazing experience! You look beautiful! Wonderful place!

ReplyDeleteWOW! This looks lovely! Love the little carnations on strings! I will have to check out this line. Is there a good selection for women of colour?
ReplyDeleteYes, there is! I mean, it's not as extensive as Rihanna's Fenty line, but they have some options.
