Let's be honest, I'm never going to wear the 2018 Pantone color of the year. Ultra violet just isn't my color. I suppose that means I won't ever become royalty (I'll just have to live vicariously through Meghan Markle). But I did find a few purple items that I think are pretty cute, even if I won't ever wear them myself, lol. Are you into ultra violet? I might end up trying out this color as a lipstick or nail polish, but not as a full look. You can shop the items here directly -- shoppable links below the image -- and then check out my past posts on the Pantone colors from the last five years.
Since 2013, which Pantone color has been your favorite so far?

Last year's greenery didn't do much for me as green just isn't my color. Unfortunately, 2018 is going to be the second year in a row that I'm just not a fan of the color of the year.

This year was my favorite Pantone year. I love that they combined two colors, and I love the colors that were chosen. As you already know, pink and blue is one of my favorite color combinations!

Marsala was actually a fun color for me. It was a great shade for makeup products like lipstick and and nail polishes. Since it's basically a shade of burgundy, marsala is also a great color for accessories like shoes and bags.

This was a really fun shade, but let's be honest, radiant orchid is just another shade of ultra violet. Isn't it weird that Pantone would do colors that are so similar within four years?

And isn't emerald very similar to greenery? I mean, c'mon Pantone! Get more creative. In 2019 I want to see a fun shade of orange or blue or yellow! Or at least a shade that's more wearable.

I am actually really loving this colour! I don't know if I'll actually be able to get a clothing item of this colour, but I wouldn't mind sewing a fabric this vibrant:D
ReplyDeleteI’m such a huge fan of this years color! Great picks too.
ReplyDeleteI love this color! I am so excited to wear it, and I still have some purple in my closet from Radiant Orchid, haha, so it's budget-friendly!!
ReplyDeleteXOXO
Cathy
It's a dynamic shade for sure. I don't see myself wearing clothing of that color but it would be fun in accessories :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you- I wasn't super thrilled with the Pantone color this year. I'll probably wear it with accessories (earrings, etc!)
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun color! Love these picks!
ReplyDeleteThis color sucks, they really failed on that one.

I"m not sure how much I love ultra violet, but I know it will grow on me throughout the year!
ReplyDeleteI’m actually so excited about this color! I found such fun sweaters the other day in the shade and they shockingly looked good on my skin! Pretty excited!
ReplyDeleteLove your easy ways (a manicure/lipstick/earrings) to incorporate ultra violet! I need more of this color in my closet, for sure.

I think ultraviolet is a great accent color. I have a pair of pumps from J. Crew in the color and it looks great with navy!
ReplyDeleteI am not planning on buying anything in this color but am committed to checking all my drawers and pulling out all in that color.. and wearing it more. After reading your post it reminded me that I have a bag in ultra violet! So its going into rotation.
ReplyDeleteI will totally be rocking this color in some of my accessories this year!

I love purple, so I'm kind of excited about this year's color :)
ReplyDeleteAlthough I enjoyed watching the sci-fi film "Ultraviolet" starring Milla Jovovich I am not yet won over by the Pantone colour "Ultra Violet" yet but do think it's a pretty colour for a lipstick. I may be harbouring a little resentment towards Pantone for repeatedly excluding the vibrant ultra-feminine shades of pink like barbie pink, bubblegum pink from the list of colours they put forward to vote on for colour(s) of the year.
ReplyDeleteI love the colour of the pink jacket in your April 2011 post Lookbook: Pretty in Pink.
If I do end up buying outfit pieces in "Ultra Violet" I'll most likely style them with yellow outfit pieces for a complimentary contrast :D

OOO I am excited for this color! It is so rich and royal
ReplyDeleteI actually like the color of the year, it's such a classy color. Cute picks you got there dear!
ReplyDeleteJessica | notjessfashion.com
To be honest, I actually don't mind this colour, but I do like it more for beauty/accessories. I could see me blending an eye shadow in this hue or possibly flats in this colour. :)
ReplyDeleteI need EVERYTHING on this list. I also happen to love the color.

I love this color! It looks great on everyone and it is so fun to wear with all of the basics.
