Fishtail Braid

This was one of the big hair trends this year. And though I love the double knot and the romantic twist, the fishtail braid is still definitely a favorite.

It reminds me of this side braid I did last year and have yet been able to truly recreate ever since.

Now I know a braid may not be the first look you think of when it comes to weddings, but I think this style is perfect for a summer wedding, especially if it is outdoors.

I just love that you can choose to wear it tight and off to the side like the first photo, or even opt for a looser look that flows down your back. You can even adjust the style by completing the fishtail braid and then wrapping it around your head for when it starts to get hot out.

What do you think of the fishtail braid look for a summer wedding?

As I've expressed in hair-related posts before, I do really like messy hair. I like when messy hair is so messy that it just can't help but look good.

Traditionally, brides bridesmaids and even many of the female guests will don themselves in a tight up-do. But I say, let your hair down--somewhat--and loosen up that look for the perfect summer wedding hair.

It's the summer time so why are you wearing so much foundation? Even at a wedding, there is no need to cake on the product when you can shine without all that makeup.

Keep your summer skin radiant by switching the foundation for a tinted moisturizer. You can even choose a simple spot concealer and some powder if you don't suffer from acne-prone skin.

You will have more of a summer glow if your makeup isn't sinking into the creases of your face because it just can't deal with the heat.

Keep the makeup full of SPF and oil-free!

I'm a lip balm/lip gloss kind of girl. Even at my own wedding I wore very minimal lipstick. But, to each their own. If you want your lip color to stay on during the entire event then you should definitely first apply a balm and even add a concealer as a base to make the color long-lasting.

This is especially important for a summer wedding as it's much easier for your lips to dry out. Top off your lips with a gloss and a lip sealer as a finishing touch.
