Murals of La Brea

1/04/2016

What a weekend! On New Year's Eve, I took a flight to Los Angeles to ring in the New Year with some SoCal friends. I visited LACMA, the La Brea Tar Pits, a ton of great coffee shops, and even attended a house party (in which I brushed by actor Thomas Mann from Me and Earl & the Dying Girl). Every time I go to L.A., I always seem to end up at some house party with some random actors/musicians. But I guess that's L.A.

And if you followed along on Snapchat ("ohtobeamuse" -- still time to see a few things if you head over now), then you know that the hubs and I took the Mazda CX-5 for a little drive from L.A. to San Diego for the rest of the weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed being tourists in a different Cali city. We stayed in the Gaslamp District, which allowed us to easily walk to all the fun restaurants, bars and coffee stops. We even got into an exclusive speakeasy and explored a lovely little place in the North Park area. One of the highlights of our trip was randomly deciding to see a hip hop Nutcracker dance performance (it was amazing) -- and the other was probably visiting Salvation Mountain (more on that later).

After finding this great backdrop, I knew I was wearing the perfect C/Meo Collective top to go with the scenery. If you're in the SoCal area then you gotta drive around and take some photos at the murals around the city (this one is in West Hollywood). Happy first outfit post of 2016!
