What I Loved: February 2017

I know I've mentioned it before, but guess what? I'm turning 31 on the 23rd -- just two days away! So come see everything I loved in my birthday month.
It's Whitney, bitch. With it being my birthday month and my birthday being in two days, I thought I'd share the number one song on the Billboard 100 list this week, 31 years ago: Whitney Houston's How Will I Know. I gotta say, that's a fabulous song, so I'm happy that it was everyone's favorite song when I was born. If you don't know it, then please take a listen here. Big hair, bright makeup, crazy dancing. It's really the epitome of '80s nostalgia.

I'm not the type of person who needs a holiday to buy something. I don't typically shop like other people. We didn't even do Christmas gifts this past year. I don't do shopping bans, either. I just buy what I want, when I want it, which actually makes me not shop all that often. I think the fact that I hate shopping in stores is why this works. The last time I went to the mall it was for a blogger event -- not to shop. Buying some items from Express (and a couple things from Amazon) in January was the first time I bought clothes for myself since July, I believe. But my birthday is in two days! And like I said, I don't need a special occasion to buy something, but I do need a special occasion to splurge. I like quality items, but I have a hard time justifying spending too much on materialistic things, especially when that money can go toward travel. So in case you want to be a doll and splurge on me for my birthday, please know that I have my eyes on this Manu Atelier - pristine micro leather shoulder bag, all the M2Malletier bags, including this M2Malletier - glitter clutch and this Gucci - studded interlocking g-buckle belt as well! Would you splurge on any of these?
If you didn't already know this about me, I'm a total lip balm girl. I love the way the right lipstick shade looks on my, but nine times out of 10, I'm choosing to wear lip balm, especially ones that do a great job at moisturizing my often dry lips. That's why I'm really loving eos shimmer lip balms right now. You know you can't go wrong with jojoba oil, shea butter and the cutest container. Now I have tasty lips thanks to eos shimmer.

I gotta say that the marketing for the Santa Clarita Diet show on Netflix was amazing. Do you know how many people thought this was a real diet? (Me...I totally did). I saw the juice bottles and thought it was some new wave juice cleanse until I realized that it was just modern-day advertising for a Netflix TV show. The Santa Clarita Diet stars Drew Barrymore (my almost birthday twin -- it's her birthday tomorrow) and Timothy Olyphant (Justified was one of my favorite shows). It's about a woman who becomes a zombie, but it's not like your typical zombie show in the slightest. The first episode was a little off, but the other nine episodes in the first season were great. I think I had to get used to seeing Drew on TV and Timothy doing comedy. Go binge it now -- only takes five hours!

  1. Happy almost birthday! I'm the same way and I don't need a reason to shop or ban from shopping and it turns out I don't shop as much as well! Your bag wishlist is gorgeous! I love the pastel colors!

    1. Girl, you gotta catch up. This season is crazy! The first half is really intense and the second half is pretty fun. I'm really liking this particular season of TWD.

But yea, also check out Drew's show. It starts a little slow but then gets very funny.

    1. Lol, right? I thought the first episode was a little weird. But after that, I was hooked. I'm wondering if they're still selling those blood, brains, tissue, guts, plasma juices.
