What I Loved: June 2017

Even before the summer season started, I was into the palm print trend. So much so that I even got a palm print mani. I love how pretty the green palm leaves look against a pale pink design. So I'm happy to see so many wonderful swimsuits decked out in this style -- from one pieces to bikinis. Are you into the palm print look (great on accessories as well)? Shop two of my favorites below.

Since I'm from the Caribbean, my alcohol of choice is rum. It's just biological. But lately, I haven't really been into any alcohol at all. I'd just rather have a chai than a cocktail these day. But since I spent all of last week in Jamaica, and at an all-inclusive resort, it was simply too easy to imbibe. I got really into rum punch, which I don't think I'd had since the last time I visited Jamaica. It's just a very refreshing beverage (usually made with white rum) that I never seem to order outside of the Caribbean. But now that summer is here, maybe I'll order a couple. What's your summer drink of choice?
In June I visited Jamaica (as you already know), but I'm thinking about planning more trips for the month of July. So for the rest of this month, I'm looking forward to planning some possible upcoming trips to the Mediterranean and Australia. Seriously, I've been trying to plan a Mediterranean vacation for the past couple of years. Hopefully, I can make it happen this summer. And I've wanted to travel to Australia for probably 20 years, but it's ridiculously far guys, lol. Once I can get these two marvelous destinations checked off my list, then I'll probably look into South America. Do you have any summer travel plans?

Things I love to do on a plane: sleep, watch free movies, listen to Spotify, use in-flight wireless and read books. On my plane ride earlier this week I was able to finish reading When She Was Bad by Tammy Cohen. The tagline really hooked me: You see people you work with every day, but what can't you see? And I must say, I was not disappointed. It was one of those books that after I finished it, I had to go back and read a few of the chapters again because now certain pages read differently. And I love when a book makes you do that. Sidenote: if anyone saw "Collateral Beauty" (also watched it on the plane) then you know it's the type of movie that makes you do the same thing. So, what's on your summer reading list?

  1. I love palm print too but I don't think I have any. Your summer travels sound amazing, I don't have any plans so far this year due to other expenses but can't wait to follow along. I'm trying to read all of Malcom Gladwell's books, I think I have 1 or 2 left.

  5. When She Was Bad sounds like a compelling read. I really enjoy when books make you want to revisit the story right after you finish them. I'm almost finished with Rich People Problems.
