If there is one thing I've learned about H&M in the last year it's that it prides itself on sustainable style. So I loved when I heard about the store's partner company, I:Collect, and its clothing initiative where consumers can take their used clothes to any participating H&M store and receive a discount on a future purchase. Every bag of used clothes brought in gives you a 15%-20% voucher at H&M.
Like me, I'm sure you muses have a ton a few clothes laying around your closet that hardly get worn. This is certainly the issue I'm having since I recently realized that I only wear about maybe 60% of my clothes. I have pieces I don't want to wear anymore, but I don't just want to throw them in the trash.

The beauty of H&M I:Collect is that not only will they take your used clothes, but they will then recycle them and create new garments with them if possible. This clothes collecting initiative will save on natural resources by avoiding textile waste. And the clothes you bring in can be from any brand and in any condition.
So why not reduce your environmental impact all while cleaning out your closet and getting a deal on some new pieces? Just look for the I:Collect bins near checkout at H&M stores starting today.

Will you be recycling your old clothes for a discount?

wow, this will be in every store, everywhere? kinda cool:D
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I donate old clothes to my church, but this is a good cause to support as well.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's really cool. I wonder if they're doing the program in Canada. I hope so!

wow, sounds interesting!!! same here, i would say i wear 50% of my clothing :( but most of my used shoes ends up in the charity shops but i tend to buy less clothing cause i end up seeing same style in shops again so i keep them especially when they are solid material.
ReplyDeletekisses.
This is the first I am hearing about this--- how cool! I would absolutely do it. I've got to find out more about it.....
ReplyDeleteI love H&M too, but on the other hand thankful that the store is far away so, I cannot spend my money. When I go there, I get what I really want but what I can also afford. They ran out of stock so easily and that's what I am afraid of.
ReplyDeleteOooh, love recycling and love H & M - sounds like a winning combo, thanks for the heads up.
ReplyDeleteThat is such an awesome concept! If only we had an H&M here in SA :/

This store everyday makes things that make me love it even more!!!
ReplyDeleteThis was the first I've heard of the event. I get their newsletters, but I guess I missed it? American Eagle does something similiar with old jeans and I think it's great to so more companies partaking in these causes!
ReplyDeleteOMG...those colors made my day! :D Such lovely ideas I need to try out!
