I came really close to getting eaten by a Bengal tiger. No, not really. But I did rest my head on a tiger's butt. Also, I nearly died while climbing up jagged rocks and being engulfed by water. No, not really. But I did walk up a waterfall. And I almost drowned during a high-speed water chase. No, not really. But I did ride on a wave runner in the middle of nowhere.
You know how much I love clothes and shoes, but there is no better way to spend your money than to travel. Pictures and memories will make the trips stay with you forever and the experience lasts a lifetime. In 2013, I was able to visit Austin, Florida, Jamaica, Dublin, London, Singapore and Thailand all within months of each other.
Florida and Jamaica were for family and friends. London was just country walking and dinner on the River Thames. Dublin was the coolest; Singapore was the prettiest; Thailand was the most adventurous.
Being in Black Girls Killing It, SFUnzipped and Glamour Fashion were great this year. I also loved the opportunity to be a part of a real life style icon e-book, and showcasing my style with numerous ShopLately and ShopStyle by PopSugar features. Oh yeah, I was also featured in the December issue of Redbook Magazine.
Enjoying an apartment long enough to stay in it for more than a year and then actually decorating it with some great personal style choices--that is a huge accomplishment for me. You know what makes you an adult? Buying curtains! I was also fortunate enough to buy one of my dream cars all by myself and knowing that hard work does pay off.
Take-Aways
Although 2013 was a great year for me, I still want to find ways to be happier in all aspects of my life. I think that starts with getting out into the world and being more active, whether that be attending more sporting events, taking stay-cations with friends, or just volunteering my time. So sorry I never got back to you about the Crosley player. I will say that was the most stressful purchase I made because I heard SO many mixed reviews about sound. I have a keepsake portable CR6249A that looks like a briefcase. I haven't had any trouble with the sound. Then again, I'm not playing new vinyl on it. I'm playing old records from the 80s and earlier so the sound is great to me. Sorry the one you bought didn't work out.
