Inspiring Style: Nail Polish Persona Style Guide

You may or may not know this, but according to studies, people can be bookmarked into four different personality types: Amiable, Assertive, Analytical and Expressive. I know no one likes to be put into a box, and I'm sure many of us would fit comfortably in a couple of these categories, but we still might have tendencies toward one over another. So let's see how your personality type is reflected in your nail color and style.

Amiable (sociable/spontaneous) ~ Hot Pink Polish
You are the life of the party and everyone notices you when you walk into a room...with your hot pink nails taking center stage. You're an amiable thinker because you're outgoing and always ready to have a good time. A hot pink polish is the same way because no one wears this color for a quiet night in. It was meant to party.Polish: Sephora by OPI It's My Pink | Dress it with: A Cut-Out & Platforms | Wear it to: Girl's Night Out

Assertive (ambitious/competitive) ~ Glitter Nail Polish
When it's time to put on polish and the first thought that comes to your head is glitter, then you're probably an assertive thinker. This personality type is more competitive and drawn to ambitious colors like glitter nail polish, which can be a hassle for most. You know the glitter adds texture and is sure to make a statement whether you have it on accent nails or all over. Same can be said for flakes and caviar style.Polish: Ciate Monte Carlo | Dress it with: Faux Leather & Faux Fur | Wear it to: Fashion Show

Analytical (methodical) ~ White Nail Polish
If you like to wear white nail polish then you are certainly an analytical thinker. White polish can be such a pain to put on because it looks especially bad if it has any streaks compared to polishes of color. You have to make sure you have the perfect white tone, evenly manicured across your nails, which makes you the methodical type. But if you're going to spend that much time getting it perfect, then it might as well stand out, am I right?Polish: Nars Ecume | Dress it with: A Structured Jumpsuit & Boxy Clutch | Wear it to: Art Opening

Expressive (relaxed/humanistic) ~ Mint Nail Polish
If there were a "people pleaser" nail color then it would be mint (or coral). Mint nail polish is always having a moment because it looks good on everyone. If you're a happy person who loves to bond with others then you're an expressive thinker, and your cheerful polish will express that well. So when in doubt, go with mint.Polish: Essie Mint Candy Apple | Dress it with: Boyfriend Jeans & Ankle Straps | Wear it to: Brunch

*Note: the polish colors are my opinion and, clearly, not scientific fact to be taken seriously. Unless, of course, you want to.

  11. I think I'm competitive but don't wear glitter polish that much. Maybe a dark color would suit my competitiveness and style better. But I think the white (or nude) color is spot-on. I'm definitely methodical and no matter the color, my nails have to be perfect. At least for a few hours. I know they're gonna get ruined the next day no matter what ;). Cute post!
