If you haven't heard of Salvation Mountain before, then you're in for a treat! It doesn't matter if you're religious or not, this colorful hill a couple hours east of San Diego is worth the trip. Salvation Mountain was created by a guy named Leonard Knight, and it's made from adobe, straw and lead-free paint. This folk art site took Leonard decades to create and you might have even seen it in the movie Into the Wild. Now that Leonard has passed away, Salvation Mountain has become a public charity for continued maintenance of the hill. People come by and drop off paint, visitors are asked to donate money for upkeep, and when you're at the hill, you are required to stay on the yellow path to help with preservation.
The hubs really wanted to see it, so we drove to the mountain located in a place called Slab City. Of course, I couldn't go to a place like this and not take advantage of the background. It was a great opportunity for a few quick outfit shots. I pretty much wear this Cotton On pullover every week. I just love how comfortable it is to wear without any unnecessary buttons, zippers or embellishments. It's basic chic. And since we're still in winter -- even though I'm totally ready for it to warm up -- you gotta check out these other amazing pullovers that add a bit of edge to a casual look.

I had never heard of Salvation Mountain before. These are the first photos of it I've seen. I love the colours. Your Cotton On ribbed pullover looks great styled with your wide-brimmed H+M hat and grey haze denim jeans.
