Kimono style clothing has been a fashion staple for a while now. But I didn't really get into it until recently when I found a kimono that was simply too pretty to pass on. This floral print one came to me at a time when I was in the middle of transitional winter to spring weather. I really needed something that would cover me up, but not swallow me whole. The majority of kimono fashion is worn the way I wore mine last month, with some opting for different patterns or prints while others hearkening back to a more traditional Japanese aesthetic. But after falling in love with the one I wore back in March, I knew it wouldn't be long until I added another kimono style to my wardrobe.
And even though I'm clocking in at around 5'2", I still opted to get a longline kimono with the versatility to be worn as a shirt. The addition of the buttons allows you to truly adorn this piece as a top but still reap the benefits of the flowy kimono look. With chunky spring heels, it's the perfect length, but I did also wear it with flats without any issue. Imagine wearing this later on in the spring and summer with a pair of denim shorts or even as a beach cover-up. The possibilities are endless. What are your thoughts on the longline kimono shirt look?
Today is the hubs' birthday! He'd love it if you wished him a happy bday in the comments or said something about the photography (you guys know he's my photographer, right?). We have something fun planned for his birthday this coming weekend. But this past weekend, I went to a blogger event at Mendocino Farms and got drinks with friends at Santana Row. Did you catch my Instastories? And we saw Avengers: Infinity War. If you saw it, what did you think?
