Summers at the Four Seasons

At the end of April, the hubs celebrated his 31st birthday. As a treat, I decided to take him out for a special afternoon at the Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley. If you're looking to treat someone special, consider taking them for lunch and a spa package at your local Four Seasons.
                                      LUNCH AT THE ROOFTOP POOL

We started the day at the rooftop pool with a delicious lunch. The lap pool area has lush landscaping, a beautiful water wall, private and colorful cabanas and full internet access. Two of my favorite things about the pool is that after 3 p.m., the area is practically adults only and the view is totally unobstructed. You totally forget that you're in the middle of Palo Alto. Very nice.

This outdoor setting also has its own pool menu, which caters to the rooftop respite vibe. The hubs and I shared a watermelon salad, a Palo Alto sandwich, and salsa and guacamole. Tortilla chips have become a favorite! We also indulged in a refreshing Moscow Mule and a Mojito!

The poolside staff at the Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley was so nice and helpful. I was told that the hotel actually just started adding food and drinks to the pool area, and I couldn't think of a better decision. With the weather being so lovely in the Bay Area these days, this is the perfect time to lounge poolside, on a rooftop with a drink (or two) in hand. Are any of you local?
All of the food was delicious, and I especially enjoyed the tortilla chips and the prosciutto in my sandwich. Since the staff knew we were celebrating the hubs' birthday, they took it upon themselves to surprise us with a plate of sweet treats for dessert. Maybe you saw this on Instagram last week? The mini lemon meringue cake was my favorite! Hats off!
                                  NATURA BISSE & SPA TREATMENT

While you enjoying your day at the rooftop pool at the Four Seasons, you should definitely walk a few steps to the spa. The hubs enjoyed the Express Lane Spa Package, which included a 30-minute O2 boost facial and the Silicon Valley Massage. The O2 boost facial uses CO2 to combat the signs of aging with an explosion of oxygen that results in a visible revitalization of the skin. The massage includes a blend of techniques between deep tissue and Swedish.

For me, I'm not really a massage girl (I know, I know), but I really was in need of a facial since it had been almost two years since my last professional facial (a 30-minute sesh in Africa). So I opted for the adventurous Natura Bisse Pure Air Bubble Facial. Have you heard of it before?
The Natura Bisse Pure Air Bubble Facial was at the Four Seasons for that weekend only (no other place in the Bay Area had it). The experience is a luxurious customized poolside facial that takes place inside the pure bliss bubble. Apparently, it's a big hit at red carpet events--makes sense.

While in the bubble, I was breathing 99.95% purified air. With air so pure, I said bye-bye to blocked pores and contaminating particles, viral agents and allergens. It's like a facial, but more pure. It's practically the best way to get a one-hour facial (and I got some Natura Bisse products).
My aesthetician gave me a fab facial, a scalp massage, and a decolletage massage as well. It was funny because she said that she's been doing this job for 26 years--longer than I've been alive. That's when I had to tell her that I'm 30. She totally gasped. I guess when an aesthetician thinks you look at least five years younger than you actually are, you must be doing something right!

And, in true spa day style, the facial ended with a glass of Prosecco! Yum, yum. If you're in the Bay Area or plan to visit any time soon, definitely stop by the Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley for a poolside lounge, a delicious meal, a satisfying spa treatment and so much more!
